An Egyptian in New York (shire)

In desperate need of a scoring option, Middlesbrough gaffer and Mr. Ed lookalike Gareth Southgate has agreed to a fee for Spurs' forward Mido. While Mido may be currently out of shape and prone to insolence, he may be what Boro need. Stuart Downing is not a scoring threat, unless you talk to his babymomma, that is. Talk about leaving it late. Southgate managed to beat out Sunderland and Birmingham for the Egyptian striker, and I'm sure Boro's display this weekend made his attempts even more desperate. Some Mido highlights:

Age 16 - joins Egyptian club Al-Zamalek and scores 3 goals in 4 appearances.
Age 18 - clashes with coach Ronald Koeman. Gets into an argument with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and throws a pair of scissors at him.
Age 21 - earns 43 caps for his country, but loses his place from the national team after clashing with coach Marco Tardelli, claiming to be unavailable for Egypt due to injury and showing up in a Roma friendly 24 hours later.
Age 22 - apolgizes for his past behavior after Tardelli is sacked. Reinstated back into the team
Age 23 - loses it after being substituted by Egypt coach Hassan Shehata in the African Cup of Nations, which leads to Egypt suspending him for six months. He ends up back on the bench for the rest of the tournament, uninvolved.

You can see it's quite clear that Mido's best years are ahead of him. If not, then I've just wasted a whole load of time, although isn't it nice to get acquainted with such an outstanding guy? I'm sure he and Stu can bring some joy to the ladies of Yorkshire.
