What to watch this weekend

Bob's bunions really enjoyed the match

With the exception of La Liga, which looks to go down to the wire, there really isn't much to watch in terms of compelling soccer . . . unless you count the new MLS season, which I'm not.

This is the time of year when I usually eschew watching matches replayed from the last season and FA Cup finals from the 70s for, you know, a life. Well, postpone getting that life (or settle in for baseball), because we've got some Euro qualifying action coming up this weekend, with such classic matchups as Bosnia v. Turkey and the Faroe Islands v. Italy.

In addition to a few friendlies, here's what will grace our screens here in North America:

Friday, June 1
England v. Brazil 3:00 pm ET Fox Soccer Channel

Saturday, June 2
Estonia v. Croatia 2:30 pm ET Setanta PPV
Greece v. Hungary 2:30 pm ET Setanta PPV
Latvia v. Spain 2:30 pm ET Fox Soccer Channel
Faroe Islands v. Italy 2:40 pm ET RAI
Belgium v. Portugal 2:45 pm ET Setanta PPV
France v. Ukraine 3:00 pm ET Setanta Sports
Germany v. San Marino 4:00 pm ET Fox Soccer Channel (delayed)
Denmark v. Sweeden 6:45 pm ET Setanta Sports (delayed)
United States v. China 8:00 pm ET ESPN2, Galavision
Mexico v. Iran 8:45 pm ET Telemundo

Sunday, June 3
Colon v. Boca Juniors 3:00 pm ET Fox Soccer Channel

Be sure to check your local listings.
