Cold Hard Cash

Because of the ELP's new TV deal, the $119M on offer to this year's winner of the Championship's promotion playoff is an astonishing 50% increase from last year. Just to differentiate between the two leagues, on average, Championship sides took in about $4.4M from TV in 2005.

But don't fret over the teams that can't hack it in the Premiership in the coming seasons, they'll get an Enron-like golden parachute: close to $20M in each of the following two years. Not a bad gig if you can get it.
