Bullard On The Mend

Yesterday's Sky Sports News broadcast did a little piece on knee surgeon to the stars, Richard Steadman. He's got quite the list when it comes to former patients, running the gamut from professional athletes to sitting vice-presidents. When it comes to soccer players, it's a who's who: Alan Shearer, Michael Owen, Alessandro Del Piero, Lothar Matthaus, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Ronaldo, and Roy Keane, to name but a few.

Recently, he worked on Jimmy Bullard's right knee after it was crushed in a challenge with Newcastle's Scott Parker back in September. After Steadman called it "one of the worst injuries of its type," the news is good on Bullard's recovery, with still an outside chance of joining Fulham for preseason training. Good news indeed for a player who seems to be one of the most well liked in the country.
