Could it be? Has the US Soccer Federation actually done something right for a change? As someone that would normally watch the US play with the same interest afforded to infomercials and unattractive women, if it's true, I'm truly happy.
Pekerman may be known on these shores as the guy that fielded a chock-full-of-talent Argentina squad in the last World Cup, only to lose to Germany (and instigate a mini-brawl after the match), but he's responsible for bringing a lot of the big names on the current team up through the schoolboy ranks. He's won the FIFA Youth World Championships three times and the U-20 South American Youth Championships twice.
And that's great news for the US, considering that Freddy Adu will grow up (in age, not height) and US fans will have nothing to talk about.
