Reading starts with a win

Reading's first game in the Premeirship was an early success for the club, coming back from 2 down to Gareth Southgate's Middlesbrough. Early goals from England winger Stewart Downing and Aiyegbeni Yakubu put the Boro in front after 21 minutes.

Australian international keeper Mark Schwarzer did well to keep a clean sheet until the 43rd minute, when striker Dave Kitson scored, followed by an equalizer the next minute from midfielder Steve Sidwell. Leroy Lita came on for Sidwell at halftime and scored in the 55th to put the Royals ahead.

An impressive performance from Reading, where they managed to dominate Boro for the last half of the first half. Reading could pick up more points, as they face Aston Villa, Wigan, Manchester City, and Sheffield United next. Unfortunately, they face Manchester United, West Ham, Chelsea, and Arsenal immediately after.

Players to watch: Steve Sidwell, Bobby Convey, Seol Ki-Hyeon, Dave Kitson, the Madjewski Stadium.
