Fabio Capello's Real Madrid couldn't get it done today against Villarreal. A 0-0 draw brought out the boo birds at the Bernabeu after a lack of imagination brought no goals in their La Liga home opener. Capello fielded all of his new signings, but Real barely bothered Villarreal's keeper Sebastian Viera, who might as well have spent the day catching up on his summer reading list. The visitors enjoyed more possession, took more corner kicks, and put more shots on goal.
Look for Becks to be out of the starting XI by November, if not sooner. How does a talent like Robinho not get more playing time? Will he be his generation's Denilson, destined for greatness in Nike commercials but not much else?
Look for both teams to get their season's off right by trying to grab maximum points in two weeks time against newly promoted sides. Real travel to the Mediterranean coast to play Levante while Villarreal host the oldest soccer team in Spain, Recreativo Huelva.
