Coming To A League Near You

Though the idea of a "Sin-Bin" or penalty box has been kicked around for some time, the backing of super-ref Pierluigi Collina is quite a boost. He has gotten behind Sepp Blatter's proposal for a punishment that would fit the crime, so to speak.

The offenses leading to a possible five minute spell off the field would include diving, time wasting, and the faking of injuries. Collina, now in charge of selecting match officials for Serie A and B matches, says that he's all for this new idea, as long as "the innovation does not overload referees with more responsibility."

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
