Liverpool and possibly former England international defender Jamie Carragher has hit out at Adrian Durham, a presenter for talkSPORT's Drivetime show. The presenter accused the Scouser of being a "bottler", and not the kind that packages liquids into glass containers. What a way to ruin his enjoyment of a beer on his ride home (5 pm traffic hour). The part I love the most is that the radio station quizzed him to make sure it was the real JC talking and not some random Scouser.
While it's known that I hold a dislike for Liverpool, I have to take the side of Carragher on this one. So he's 29 and wants to concentrate on his form for his club team. Is that really so surprising? Various people in England (the majority of which are as antiquated as Peter Hill-Wood) will tell you that it's a privilege that should be heeded, that the country comes before the club.
I say that's a load of shit, especially if it's England you're turning down. I just can't seem to wrap my head around why everyone is so surprised that one of the better defenders in the Europe may choose to jump from what we all know is a sinking ship. And he's not even Steve McClaren's first option in his natural position. More power to him, I say.
