Nedved Puts Off Retirement To Save Juve

Juventus have finished the first half of the Serie B season as Winter Champions, thanks to Pavel Nedved's injury time equalizer against Spezia this afternoon. If Napoli beat Genoa on Monday, the Biaconeri will have to share that crown with Diego Maradona's old club.

Spezia tried to put the Turin giants away with after taking the lead, but Gianluigi Buffon was up to the task. Didier Deschamps acknowledged the importance of Italy's number one:
Their goal came from their only chance of the first half but they almost made it two shortly after. We spent a lot of energy in the second half and the more we attacked, the more risks we took at the back. Without Buffon in goal, it would have been hard to get a result here today.
Juve host Rimini next Saturday at the Stadio Olimpico. The Adriatic side are currently five points behind the Serie B leaders. [Juventus offical site, Channel 4]
