The Grab: 01.26

You're right, she does feel better than Victoria
Becks Watch: Well Beckhamania is in full swing, with corporate giants Disney utilizing the former England captain's pretty face in their new "A Year of a Million Dreams" (instead of "A Year of 50 million dollars") campaign. [MSNBC]

Unsatisfied with the new signings of Ashley Young and John Carew (I'd be unsatisfied with Carew, too), Martin O'Neill claims he's "had a vision". The former Celtic and current Aston Villa gaffer will discuss a new players' wage system with Cleveland Browns owner Randy Lerner that sounds a lot like the incentive-based contracts in US sports. [ITN News]

Montreal Canadiens owner George Gillett is looking to pull a Randy Lerner and will begin due diligence in his approach to purchasing Liverpool FC, which is currently targeted by DIC, the investing arm of Dubai. Apparently, the move was unwelcome as the Merseysiders look to consistency with DIC, as pretty much everything is sponsored by an UAE-based company (Arsenal, the EPL itself). [Irish Examiner]

O'Neill's system sounds very similar to what Barca have - a base salary, plus bonuses based on number of games played and trophies won.

Man Utd expressed an interest in that kind of system a while back, but I think they'd have trouble getting their players to go along with it.
