Rangers remain manager-less for now, as the SFA rejects Walter Smith's request to be relieved of his duties. They may as well just throw away this year at Ibrox, but there is the small matter of qualifying for next year's Champions League. [Times Online]
Remember the EPL's own Paul Le Guen last year? Alain Perrin, another in a long line of Frenchmen who failed to translate their European success in Britain, is feeling a bit more comfortable back in Ligue 1, leading Sochaux to within two points of 2nd place Lens. [Guardian Sport Blog]
How does Real Madrid remain so bad with so many name players? I guess that's been the question of the last four years or so, but after watching Los Merengues lose to Deportivo La Coruna, it looks like it's going to be a long road back to greatness. GolTV's color man, Ray Hudson (a working-man's Tommy Smyth) said it best when he likened the galacticos to a bunch of strangers that have never played together, effectively making Depor look like Barcelona on a good day at the Nou Camp. [Sportingo]
Is there no end to Arsene Wenger's pettiness? Gooners hope not, as it's rumored that one of the last English remnants of AW's Gunner squad moves to Keano's Sunderland for nearly $1.2M less than Charlton offered. I wonder if there's any hard feelings between Wenger and Alan Pardew. [Irish Examiner]

To be fair to Real Madrid, they did field a couple of new players against Depor, and the Riazor is their 'cursed' stadium. But Depor were in such awful form you'd think the curse would be broken by such a stubborn team like Capello's.
(Weirdly enough, I hate Tommy Smyth but love Ray Hudson. Funny how that works.)
Well, if anyone can turn them around it is Capello. You have to wonder what the mood is like in the dressing room. I think it's Hudson's innocent yelps when the it looks like someone's going to take a crack at goal: pure joy.
