What can I say - it's a slow day in the office.
The tough and grisly morsels remaining from today's footie news:
Apparently, Port Charlotte, FL is a new Premier League hotspot for vacation homes. Since the latest data (from 2000) put PC's median income at about $34K and the median home price at $82K, it looks like Wazza's splashed out some cash so he can bring everyone's property values up. [Kickette]
It looks like Walter Smith can't turn down the Gers top spot, despite leading Scotland ahead of France and Italy in Group B of the Euro 2008 qualifying stage. The fact that Smith would resign from his post at the SFA while the possibility of winning silver is still possible (if only remotely), to take over a team struggling as much as Rangers are, is intriguing. The realistic best he can do with Gers is secure a spot for next year's CL, giving us Yanks an idea of just how important the Old Firm is. [BBC Sport]
Speaking of Scotsman, Nigel Quashie moves from West Brom to West Ham, showing a personal desire for the word "West" to be emblazoned somewhere on his kit. Can the Scottish midfielder and Luis Boa Morte save the Hammers from relegation, or will Curbs bringing him on board just prepare them for the Championship division? [West Ham official site]
Well, well, what a surprise. Birmingham City's on-loan phenom Nicklas Bendtner thinks he's pretty good, which isn't a first for any footballer, but sadly (for Steve Bruce), he may be the best of the City bunch. [Telegraph]
Let the talk of Portugeezer extraordinaire Jose Mourinho leaving Chelsea begin. Unsurprisingly, the man who's only lost a handful of fixtures for the Blues, may want to leave for greener pastures, or at least bigger challenges, which leads one to wonder just who will take over the reins at Stamford Bridge, whose employee parking lot doubles as the most expensive carpark in London.
