Who Had Juve In First By December?

If you did, go collect because Juventus went top (for a day at least) after drawing on the road against Genoa. Pavel Nedved did the double today, scoring to put his team ahead, and then getting sent off to leave his team a man down in injury time. Regardless, Juve await tomorrow's results concerning Napoli and Piacenza. Gianluigi Buffon did his part as he saved a penalty and was in excellent form throughout the match. Boss Didier Deschamps had this to say after the game:
"It was a good game for the spectators against a quality Genoa outfit. We had a few difficulties in the first half but in the end we created a lot of chances. My only regret is conceding so soon after taking the lead. Genoa deserve credit. They created a lot and they showed great movement. Over half their team have what it takes to play at the top level. It was an open game and there could have been more goals but overall it was a good result for us."
The rest of Serie B play tomorrow, with a couple of different scenarios possible for what the table might look like on Sunday morning. Juve host bottom dweller Verona next Saturday. [International Herald Tribune, Juventus official site]

If they keep getting their punshiment points reduced I reckon they'll be on top of Serie A by the end of the year.
