- Ex-Toluca and possible Houston Dynamo reinforcement Bruno Marioni seems to have decided on Boca. Reports are that he'll put pen to paper on Tuesday. [La Prensa]

- Estudiantes de La Plata have turned down a $4M offer from Italian Serie B side Genoa for striker Mariano Pavone. Gago doesn't quite look right in white yet. I'm so used to seeing him in either Albiceleste colours (for the U20s) or Boca ones. Maybe it will with time. (His hair was short last year. I bet he's growing it out to look more like Redondo. That's...kind of scary.)
Re: Palacio, much as I like him, I'm disappointed that Barca bid for him at all. There's absolutely no need to buy a forward at this point in time, and I don't want another one of Argentina's bright sparks rotting away on the bench. Just look at poor Saviola - just as when he began to play well and get games, he got injured. Now's he below Ezquerro on the pecking order.
