The Grab: 12.08.2006

While I'm all for giving stick (as long as it's irreverent and more importantly, funny), how many traveling Gooners will be hurling uncreative insults at Ashley Cole? Arsene Wenger and Jens Lehmann are at odds on how he should be treated. [Eurosport, BBC Football, Guardian]

Haven't heard much from the Portugeezer? He tells all (that he wants to) to the Times. [Times Online]

Remember "possibly the worst European football match ever" on Wednesday, between Porto and Arsenal? Talk about putting a bad taste in fans' mouths. Lou Macari, who provided color for the match on Setanta called it short of a disgrace. We all know why Arsenal looked poor, but did they have to play that poorly? Surprisingly, Wenger is furious with the allegations. [Eurosport]

And now it's Roeder's time to be angry, responding to Lord Alex's dissatisfaction with Newcastle's use of Italian-American striker Guiseppe Rossi. Can you see Fergie's red face booming, "Aye, you're sittin' in 15th place . . . use the bloody Italian." [Telegraph]
