Dropping Points + Sponsorship Going Tits Up = Bad Day

Didier Deschamps accused his team of arrogance after today's late collapse against one of Serie B's relegation candidates. It's the first time this season that Juventus have dropped points when playing at home, ending a run of seven wins in a row at the Stadio Olimpico. It was the attitude of his players that most disappointed Didi:
"I knew it wasn't going to be a simple match. They managed to put a lot of pressure on us and it took us a whole half to get going. In the second period we played better, Alex [Del Piero] found his man continually and [Rafaelle] Palladino also had a good game. Unfortunately at 2-0 we made the mistake of believing the game was all but over. Their penalty knocked a bit of confidence out of us and then not long after, a mistake by us led to their equaliser. It's a shame to end the year with a draw having been 2-0 up. Which just goes to show that, despite all the good work we've done over the last few months, we must still remain humble."
The result leaves the Turin club one point behind this week's flavor of the month, Rimini. Still having a game in hand, the Bianconeri are off until after the winter break. [CNN, Juventus official site]

In other Juve news:
  • If the day's result wasn't already bad enough, it seems that the $$$ well is starting to run dry. Not what you want to hear when the team's stars are demanding for major signings next summer. The Bianconeri are set to lose out on an astonishing $313.2M, to have been paid out through June of 2015. Juve has already seen their Sky Italia TV and Nike contracts reduced by 30% following their Calciopoli enforced demotion.[Juventus official site]
