Dr. Who?

Let's hope last summer's doping scandal that tore apart the Tour de France field doesn't reach the soccer world. This story doesn't get us off to a good start. We all know that accusations count for a lot when the press is involved. Let's hope it's nothing more than that.

At a press conference dealing with Barcelona's passage to the Champions League round of 16, Giovanni Van Bronckhorst said that he didn't know anything about doctor Eufemiano Fuentes' involvement with doping. Valencia and Real Betis, also implicated in Le Monde's reporting, deny any contact with Fuentes. [ESPN Soccernet, Marca]
