The Grab Bag: Saturday

Premiership action is back after the UEFA Euros 2008 qualifying break, and thank god we've finally got some meaningful football.

I've been absent for the past week or so, both due to our publishing issues and the Detroit Tigers winning the pennant for the first time since 1984. I know we're not a baseball site, but I figured I had to give some sort of explanation for AC doing most of the work recently (thanks AC).

So it's with my heart still thumping with excitement that I give you the Grab Bag for today.

Jose Mourinho's upset about something again, which gives us something to talk about. Two keepers knocked out? What're the chances? Perhaps they'd be more resilent if they followed David James' striking revelation that fast food isn't good for you. Now that's a thinking man for you. [BBC Sport, Guardian Unlimited]

Theo Walcott gets a run out as Arsenal find some form against one of the crappier teams in the top division. [Times Online]

It looks like Wazza's found the right hoover and hairdryer to put on when he hits the hay, as Wigan go down to Manchester United 1-3 . [Independent]

Liverpool draw with Blackburn Rovers, Man City and Sheffield Utd surprise no one with their result, Boro end the Toffees'unbeaten run, and Alan Pardew's woes continue. [Football365, 4theGame, ESPN Soccernet, Monsters & Critics]
