A West Ham Takeover?

West Ham United are in takeover discussions, the day after their stunning signings of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano.

The club claim that there are no connections between the contracts of the Argentine internationals and this coincidental takeover bid, despite some murkiness surrounding the Brazilian club Corinthians, where the duo played last, and Media Sports Investments, a company run by Iranian businessman Kia Joorabchian.

MSI had unsuccessfully attempted a takeover last year, and Joorabchian was at the helm of it, but he denies any involvement in the current bid.

"MSI is a company that will not invest in European football as such by investing in a club, so that speculation is out for sure," he said on BBC Radio Five Live on Thursday.

Skeptical about this all being a coincidence? I think we all are.
