The Gaffer rightly points out that Americans had a great weekend in the Premiership. Bobby Convey, Brian McBride, and Carlos Bocanegra all made solid contributions as their teams collected valuable points in the fourth round of the EPL.
The accolades should also go to Brad Friedel (pictured above) for stopping not one, but two penalties against Sheffield United. Those stops helped secure an important away point in Blackburn's 0-0 draw.
Tim Howard also recorded a clean sheet in Everton's 3-0 win at home against Liverpool. He has played in all of Everton's league matches thus far, allowing only two goals in four games. Howard, on loan from Manchester United, has propelled the Toffees to third place after three wins and one draw, two points behind the Red Devils.
