Boca and Sao Paulo Get It On

Earlier today, Sao Paulo goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni and his teammates trained at the Bombonera in Buenos Aires. They're getting ready to take on Boca Juniors in the first leg of the Recopa Sudamericana. The two-legged series pits the Copa Libertadores champion against the Copa Sudamericana champion. For those that don't know, the Libertadores is the South American equivalent to the UEFA Champions League and the Sudamericana is equal in stature to the UEFA Cup.

For Alfio Basile, it will be his third to last of match in charge of Boca. He follows up tomorrow's game with an away league game against Gimnasia La Plata on Sunday and then the second leg against Sao Paulo in Brazil a week from tomorrow. Basile will then take on the position of head coach of the Argentine national team full-time. He has been splitting time between the two jobs since July when he accepted the offer to coach the Albicelestes for the second time. He was the head man for Argentina from 1990 to 1994.

The game will be shown live on FOX Sports en Espanol tomorrow at 8:30pm ET. The return leg will be shown on September 14th on the same channel, same time.
