Shouldn't They Be Playing In A Smaller Venue?

In front on 6,760 spectators in Bari, Juventus started their 2006/07 campaign with a 3-0 victory over third-division Martina Franca in the first round of the Italian Cup. The Bianconeri got off to a quick start with a goal in the seventh minute and another before half-time. Pavel Nedved finished the beating with a rocket from thirty five yards out in the eighty first minute.

Juve head man Didier Deschamps was happy to get the competitive season off on the right foot after so much off season turmoil. While not wanting to offend the third division side, Deschamps praised his team for playing with the right attitude. "It’s not important who we play but how we play. Tonight we dictated the game and created a lot of chances, I can’t ask for more than that from my players." Their next game is a second round cup tie next Wednesday.

They could play in a completely empty stadium if Nedved pulls a di Canio and celebrates a goal with a facist salute. Or maybe their fans can make monkey noises.
