In pursuing my personal goal to follow the ups and downs of Juventus, I have some sad news to report tonight. Napoli knocked Juve out of the Italian Cup on penalties. Around 60,000 squeezed into Napoli's Stadio San Paolo and they didn't go home disappointed. I guess Juve's "best hope of making a speedy return to Europe" has just died.
That might not even be that big of a deal compared to the news that Juve and the Italian Football Federation have come to some sort of tentative agreement. Seems like this whole business concerning appeals to civil courts and FIFA sanctions was just a game of chicken. We'll see if this is the case, Juve's appeal to the civil court is still set for Friday. Stay tuned for an interesting couple of days.
